YPR announces partnership with miRunners

YPR is proud to announce a partnership with exciting new thoroughbred racehorse ownership program, miRunners.

The unique concept makes racehorse ownership affordable by offering shares as small as 0.1%.

Participants first choose a trainer from one of six industry leaders handpicked by miRunners. They include John Thompson (Sydney), Kris Lees (Newcastle), Ryan Balfour (SA), Tony Gollan (QLD), Mick Price (VIC) and recent Caulfield Cup winner Ciaron Maher (VIC).

They then buy one or more “units” with their chosen trainer and at the upcoming Magic Millions sale the trainer will use that money to purchase a yearling.

The miRunners platform breaks down a racehorse into 1,000 units.  Each trainer has identified a maximum price they will pay for a yearling and their unit price is based on that.

For as little as $165 anyone can be a racehorse owner with the associated benefits such as access to owner’s privileges and a share of the prize money.

Ongoing monthly costs for the horse are very low. Training and upkeep fees are between $3-$6 and the subscription to miRunners is $10 per month.

miRunners CEO Chris Ryan sees the program as a fun and affordable way for young professionals to become owners.

“This is a game changer for the racing industry,” he said.

“It is an affordable way for people to experience the joy of racing and be involved in an elite sport as an owner.”

The miRunners model has been inspired by its parent company, MiStable – a trusted system used by more than 250 trainers to manage communication to owners through an application on their phones and digital devices.
