Royal Randwick’s massive month of Spring racing continues this Saturday at the inaugural Men Of League Cox Plate Day, with a nine-race card of live action on track as punters also take in all of the excitement and drama of the Cox Plate, featuring some of the stars of Sydney racing.
At Randwick our best bet of the day is Mr Manhattan (pictured) in Race 7. This bloke is going places and the last start win was every bit as good as it looked. For an added bonus, he is part owned by a group of YPR members so we’ll all be cheering him home.
Young Gun Royal Randwick trainer James Cummings will be blazing the trail of his famous grandfather Bart this Saturday as he tries to qualify promising stayer Ruling Dynasty (pictured) for the Melbourne Cup in the $100,000 Listed City Tattersalls Club Cup.
Ruling Dynasty ($6 TAB Fixed Odds) takes on a quality field including the Chris Waller pair of Beaten Up ($2.40 TAB Fixed Odds) and Junoob ($7 TAB Fixed Odds), and Gai Waterhouse’s former Schweppes Sydney Cup winner The Offer ($5 TAB Fixed Odds).
Boasting over $3.3 million in prize money, with three Group 1s including the $1 million The Star Epsom Handicap, the best seat in town is on-course to celebrate this mega weekend of sport.
Chris Waller’s superstar mare Winx (pictured below) is starting favourite for the Epsom with TAB Fixed Odds of $2.80, but be sure to read our Mailman’s tips for your guide for the day
